Student success in social studies can be determined on whether or not they have the literacy skills to analyze text. This session will give social studies teachers multiple strategies to enhance reading skills in the classroom, regardless of the Lexile level the students bring into the classroom. When students are provided with the tools necessary to break down primary sources, they have the ability to start making content connections. Come to this session and learn a variety of ways to enhance the literacy skills of ALL the students in your classroom. TESS: 1.1 - 1.3, 2.4, 3.1
